Pitt State wreath

My Cousin Tiffany moved into a house in Pittsburg, Kansas this year and wanted something on her front door. I met her at Hobby Lobby and picked out these cute burlap ribbons, some plain letters, and paint. It took us a few tries to get the loops just right so we didn't have to go back! However, it turned out super cute! The letters we used acrylic paint and the end of a pencil to make the dots. 

Front Porch Makeover

How I wish I would have taken a picture of my sister's front porch before. It had a bike, gas can, cooler, hose, leaves, and a few dead plants. With a new baby coming she needed a spot to rock the baby. I wanted to make it a welcoming spot for her and Grandma to rock.

Lots of cleaning, sweeping, and moving stuff was involved.... but after that, a run to Michael's, IKEA, and Marshall's and it was ready to go!

Previously, there was no wreath at all.

Craft Exchange Burlap Wreath

Twice a year, Craftaholics Anonymous hosts a Handmade Gift Exchange for readers and crafters everywhere. Participants make a handmade gift for another crafter with whom they are paired. This is a great way to make a gift.

 I was paired up with a lady from Sleepy Eye, MN. Sleepy Eye is a SMALL town in Minnesota, where my grandma's family lives!  I thought that was a small world connection! 

I made Alyssa this wreath.  I thought I was going to need those pipe cleaners, but it turned out I only needed 2!   I used 2 rolls of burlap, a metal wreath frame, a snowflake ornament, and some floral picks.

I started off by attaching the burlap end to the wreath with a pipe cleaner.  

 Then I folded the burlap in half, and wove it through the rings.  I went bottom, middle, top. I kept saying that over and over as I did it. Depending on how full you want it, you can do 3-4 bottom, middle, tops per section.

 Keep going around and around... when you have to add the 2nd roll of burlap, tie it on with the pipe cleaner.

 I then added in decorations! I wired the snowflake on so she can change it out for different seasons (I'm thinking a heart, clover, eggs, flags, etc!)

In return she sent me this: 

An oven mit, tea towel, cute little bag, and a lace reindeer ornament! Wishing I would have put up my pink tree this year!

Wreaths & Wine Party

Last week, I had my friends over for a "Wreaths & Wine" party.  I had given a few wreath lessons, during the fall, so I thought, "Why not have a party and get them all done at once?!" We met at my house, and then headed off to Hobby Lobby.  In the days before the party, we were pinning inspiration pictures, so most of us went with a vision in mind.  I was there to help them pull their vision together! I wish I would have taken pictures of us shopping. It was a sight to see! We all had our phones out with the pictures trying to find the perfect ribbon, pine branch, or ornament! Andrea even made a friend who was making a similar wreath! I thought she might invite her over too!

All of us spent around $25-50. Some of us hit up the fall sale, 80% off, so they spent a little more, because they bought more than just wreath supplies!

First we had a little dinner, then we got to work! I set up a large 6 foot table and the glue guns.  I would also suggest having out wire cutters, wire, picks, and scissors.

I gave a little lesson on deco mesh wreaths, and we all got to work! I love how they all turned out! Even some of them who are not crafty, and didn't have a vision, came out with great wreaths! It was a hit! A little wine, helps boost confidence too! :)

Fall wreath

I am getting pretty good at making fall wreaths! My friend Emily asked me to make her one too! So we headed out to Hobby Lobby and picked up a few supplies.  This time was easy, because I had already made this wreath.  I knew where everything was, and even had a few picks and clips leftover.  Emily wanted burlap on hers, so we bought a roll of burlap ribbon. We also bought a package of pumpkins and gourds, a leaf garland, a red sunflower, a pumpkin pick, sparkles, and a grape vine wreath. It cost about $30, and took about 15 minutes to make!

 I think it looks great with her mums! 

                                 

Pottery Barn Inspired Fall Wreath

My friend Megan came into town and we spent a little less than 24 hours together and she went home with 3 crafts from Camp Craft at April's. One of them was a wreath. She came with a picture of a Pottery Barn wreath, that was $99.  She really liked it, but did not like the price tag. So we headed to my favorite store, Hobby Lobby.  All of their fall stuff was 40% off.  We spent about 30 minutes trying to decide what to buy, but came out with all of this, for under $30.

We went with a grape vine wreath, and wrapped it in a leaf garland. 

 Next, we stuck flower picks into the pumpkins and shoved them into the wreath. 

 Megan, had 1 poke through, that we fixed with orange paint.  Buying the picks and box of pumpkins and gourds was cheaper than buying the pre-picked pumpkins. 

 We did glue a little bit just to make sure some of the stuff stayed on.

 I was jealous and at the store, I bought a few things. 

 Mine took all of "27 seconds" as Megan said. 

 Simple, but cute. 

Fall Wreath

Michaels had hydrangeas on sale, so I bought a few to make a fall wreath.  

I cut off the stems using wire cutters. 

 Then I just poked them into the grape wreath. 

Simple quick.  I can also re-use the wreath when I get sick of this one or when the season changes!
