Senior Photography

Create.Cook.Teach. has added photography. Growing up, my parents owned a camera store. So naturally, I have always taken pictures. Recently, I have started doing pictures for friends and family. This year, my very first class of 2nd graders will be SENIORS as well as my first bunch of 5th graders. I hope I will have the opportunity to catch up with some of them and take their senior pictures.

Photography

I grew up in a Camera store that my parents owned for 30 years.  So, I've always been interested in photography.  In high school I took a few photography classes, and I always have a camera with me. About a year ago, my mom gave me a "real" camera and I have slowly been learning how to use it outside of Program, or Auto! This year I even had a few friends use my picture on their Christmas cards! For right now, I'm not doing it to make money, just to make memories! So enjoy some of my favorites of 2014!

I love how this outfit and birth announcement sign turned out (I framed the sign, but didn't get a picture)! When I delivered it, I took my camera and did a little newborn photo shoot with this little snuggle bug! I think I finally have the newborn photography thing figured out. I'm still not a professional, but I am getting better. 

                                

First Birthday Outfit & Photo Shoot

This sweet girl is ONE today! She was all smiles for her 1 year photo shoot. Aunt April made her a onesie and a bow. I love how these turned out! 

The lighting at the farm was so great, it looks like we are in a studio here! 

These I cheated on the lighting. My new favorite site is fotor.com then I use the lens flare- sun kissed filter!

Family Photoshoot

I've started to do a few more photo shoots for my friends. The lighting during this session was awesome! I've been using the "Magic Hour" app on my phone to see when the light would be the best. It has not let me down! It also helps to have a beautiful family to photograph! 

I think this might be one of my all time favorite shots! Her eyes are awesome!

Baby Kisses ~ Black and White Picture with Color Pop!

This weekend I went to visit my friend and did her baby girl's 3 month pictures. I had seen the kisses pictures on Pinterest and wanted to give it a try.

 I used www.fotor.com to make it so only the kisses were red, and everything else was black and white.

To do this I uploaded my picture to fotor.com and then selected the effects icon.
Next, I chose color splash and used the paintbrush to paint the kisses back on.
I did have to go in and erase some of the areas where I went outside the lines, but for the most part I got the effect I wanted!

Christmas Photo Booth

I decided at last minute to make a photo booth for my Christmas party.  I'm so glad I did! I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out a few shapes; I also found a few hats around my house to use as props.  I put up some wrapping paper on the wall, set up the camera on a tripod and it was ready! The pics came out great and it was fun!

I used www.iPiccy.com to make the strips! 

iPicky

I really wish I knew how to use Photoshop. I found a great little website that helps edit photos and do some of what Photoshop does.  iPicky is great for creating photo collages.  It is very user friendly and free!

I did this for my friend Emily, she had it printed on canvas and it looks great! It cost her 1/4 of what a professional would have charged to get it on canvas! If you are going to do canvas be sure to save it in the highest resolution possible!

I just made this one up for fun! I love the looks on the kids faces! Sometime we need to have a picture of what they are looking at! They probably think we are crazy!
